Comparative Private Law and Private International Law (MOE3010)

Provides both a comparative overview on major private law systems worldwide and an introduction to conflict of laws, i.e. the legal analysis of trans-border transactions. A special focus is laid on European private international and civil procedural law in form of the respective EU regulations, which will be used to solve real-life cases.

Foundations of Contract Law in Europe (HOE6043)

General knowledge of the main features of EU contract law systems, understanding the main concepts of the Civil Law’s concept of contract law, ability to orientate in European private law systems, legal sources and literature, and basic skills of drafting legal opinions in a sound and thorough method in the field of contract law.

Artificial Intelligence and Law (MOT 5060)

Overview of strategies, legal regulation and approaches on Artificial Intelligence (AI). Highlights basic dilemmas and problems in relation of AI use-cases both in public and private sector.

Interactive class where TalTech law students present their ideas of existing or envisaged startups. After being provided a “legal toolkit” comprising tailored information on corporate law, regulatory compliance, entity formation, stock options and employee equity, privacy, employment, commercial agreements, strategic issues and in-company governance, these ideas are discussed among peers as possible use-cases, analysed and transformed into legally sound solutions.
